The “visibility: hidden” style is just for the shim image that allows the slideshow to scale properly, it doesn’t effect your other slide images.

It sounds like you probably have some JavaScript errors breaking the slideshow, can you post a link?

I seem to be having the same problem.

I’m using a custom post type, banner for the slides. I can have multiple Banners defined, and if they number of slides in the slideshow is set to 1, everything displays fine. When I set the number of slides higher, everything disappears.

Here is a test link on a site I am working on:
    http://www.zyprrdev.com.php53-13.dfw1-2.websitetestlink.com/
The number of slides is set to 2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

@mfritch You are having a JavaScript issue, none of the JavaScript files for Meteor Slides are loading, and there are some JavaScript errors from other files that aren’t loading.

It looks like you’re having a plugin conflict, try deactivating your other plugins and testing it. Do you have a cache or minification plugin running?

    Thanks for the response.

The website is being built, so no cache or minification.

The link I sent you was a fairly complicated site, so I went to a simpler one with the same problem, deactivated all plugins and removed all javascript from the header. The only line remaining is:

    <script src=”http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.11.1/jquery.js”></script&gt;

I’m not seeing any javascript errors, but MeteorSlides is still not working. I wasn’t seeing any javascript errors before other than then min map not being loaded.

There are three JavaScript files for Meteor Slides that aren’t being loaded. The plugin’s stylesheet is loading, so I’m assuming there’s a wp_head function included in the theme, but if all the plugins are deactivated it must be a theme conflict of some sort.

What theme are you using, is it custom? If you can I would try switching to the default theme and testing the slideshow. You could also try re-installing Meteor Slides to confirm that nothing is missing.

My slide show on my static home page, which worked beautifully until recently when I was hacked, has disappeared. All the editor says is [meteor-slideshow] Note – the hack involved sending mobile users to a porn site, and that code has been removed at my host site.

My plug ins page claims that I have no plug ins installed. So I went to the WordPress plug ins site, searched Meteor Slide Show and tried to install it again. The download failed with this error message:

    Destination folder already exists. /home/content/67/11699267/html/wp-content/plugins/meteor-slides/

    Plugin install failed.

But I don’t know where to find that destination folder or how to start my slide show again.

Please assume I am an idiot and take me step-by-step. All the prior questions jump from “I have a problem” to “I see your slideshow”, with none of the fixes written out.

    Thank you.

@robync Sorry to hear about that, being hacked is no fun!

It is possible that this malicious code was spread through out your theme and plugin files. If your host removed this code, they might have deleted some legitimate files too.

Try logging into your site via FTP, or browsing the files in your host’s cPanel or other admin tool. Check in wp-content/plugins/meteor-slides to see if there are any files. It might be just the folder for the plugin, or the files could be broken or corrupted.

I would recommend manually deleting all of your plugins and re-installing them just to be on the safe side. If you delete the whole folder for each plugin, like meteor-slides, you should be able to re-install them via the WordPress admin. If you haven’t made any changes to the code of your theme, I would reinstall that too, just to be on the safe side.

    Good luck!
