That sounds really bad! Sorry about that. The PictureFill method was basically completely rewritten. What version of PHP do you have? When you use the last version of the plugin, can you access the logs of your PHP? Something must be in there…

With the help of my hosting provider I created a error log. It was empty when using 2.0.2 but I switched to 2.0.4 again for a minute and this is the result: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8roicg633vi78y3/errorlog.txt

Thank you for looking into it… but the solutions in this thread didn’t work at my site. Upgrading to WP 4.0 made no difference either.. so I am still going with 2.0.2
I am on WPEngine as host and notice the same thing version 2.0.2 works while 2.0.4 gives a white screen
Changelog says 2.0.6 but all I can see is 2.0.4 available. Had to disable the plugin due to white screen too.
I will update the plugin soon for 3x support and a few other changes but I am curious: what can you see in your PHP logs? Seems like a few people have this issue but I have never experienced it. I really need to know more about what is happening…
Tonight I also noticed I cannot generate thumbnails while 2.0.4 is enabled. I turned it back on and set it to client side to avoid the white screen problem. Then I tried regenerating the images for one of my earlier posts and it just clocks using regenerate thumbnails button in media library (plugin) even WP Retina 2x media list won’t generate them. It lets me click generate and it looks like it starts but never finishes.
If I disable WP Retina 2x plugin, I can regenerate thumbnails again.
I don’t seem to have access to my php error log.
Actually I know what is the problem for boborg. I have to fix another library, it is not really about the plugin itself but I can try. The issue also comes from the plugin called “olevmedia-shortcodes”.

No. I don’t have that one. I noticed that I can use the client side setting without issue, so this appears to be limited to srcset. Also, when the white screen happens, my page source looks like it only contains header details–no actual blog content. If it’s a library issue that would make sense, as it stops before any of my content appears.
Something wrong happened during the modification of your code, that is why. But normally you would see that in the php logs. It is really important that you check them, they are always accessible somehow, or your hosting service will always give them to you if you ask. Please do, otherwise we will fight with the issue for weeks. With you php logs we will know exactly what’s going on.
