New install – admin not loading

I just installed a new installation on a new server. The blog appears to be functioning normally but whenever i try to log into the admin it is loading a blank page with one lone . on it.

I completely removed the installation as well as the database and tried a second install but I am still getting the same error.

I tried renaming the plugins folder and that did not work.

I looked at the error log and nothing jumped out at me.

I am basically at a loss now – I am guessing this is a server issue but I have no idea what to ask the host to look for…
