Social share totals reset after site migration

    Hi, do you have a fix for this? I’ve moved to a new host but keeping the same domain name and address. The totals for my social shares have reset to zero (apart from Twitter which has kept the correct figures).

    Presumably Facebook and Google Plus are seeing the same page as a different URL, but I don’t understand why. Is there a fix?

    Hi,

    Chances are your new host doesn’t allow the PHP function file_get_contents() to run for security concerns.

    Simple Share Buttons Plus uses WP functions in place of this and can bypass this issue for you -http://www.simplesharebuttons.com/plus.
