Cant Import Large Number of Articles

    I am trying to import a large number of articles to a fresh installation. It imports some thousand and then stops. When I restart it, it imports some more and stops. I am running the import on my local computer to I shouldn’t have memory issues, but correct me if I am wrong

    Also, when I restart the import, does it continue from the last article where it stopped or does it start importing from the first article again?

    You can have some memory issues, even in local. Please have a look at the FAQ to increase the memory allowed to PHP and to WordPress.
    When you restart the import, it continues from the last imported article, except if you tick the «automatic removal» checkbox.

    I have gone ahead to do the import but I discovered that there are so many duplicate articles.

    It seems it imported articles it had imported before

    Please help

    It is because you rerun the import while the import process was still active in background.
    Before rerunning the import you must ensure that the process has finished. You can check it by looking at the number of posts in WordPress.
