    My website is http://www.wearedesign.in

    (1) For some reason when I link my menu to portfolio-type items, few do not show on hover the title of the portfolio. You can check this by going into the menu and clicking on “photography”. I have observered this happens when the url points that the items are on page2 or page 3. I have tried disabling continuous scrolling but does not help.

    Any solutions?

    (2) Also in the page can I show specefic project-type content instead of whole portfolio?

Yes, you can do that by using the portfolio shortcode with the include_type attribute.

I see what you mean – I will do some further investigation and get back to you.

I did some tests on a site running Espied with Jetpack, but I couldn’t replicate the issue I see on your site, either with or without Infinite Scroll.

To do some further troubleshooting on your end, you could try turning off all plugins, and turning off all Jetpack modules except Portfolio. If your portfolio type display then returns to normal, reactivate each plugin one at a time, and then reactivate each Jetpack module one-by-one to find the culprit. Check your site in between each reactivation to see if the issue is resolved.

I also noticed that you have a different number of portfolio projects displayed (7) on the first page of portfolio projects than the default number, which is 10. Have you made any modifications to the theme files? If you have, could you try reinstalling an untouched version of the theme instead and see what happens?

I see that you can change the number of portfolio items under Settings > Reading, could you confirm that you changed that to 7?

You can actually hold off testing plugins for now – one of our developers is taking a look at this to see if he can try to replicate. I’ll keep you posted.

One of our developers has been able to replicate your issue – please hang tight while they work on a fix. I’ll let you know when an updated version of the theme is available.

Sorry for the late reply! I have not made any changes to theme files till now (mainly because of this problem!) I just changes the setting called ‘maximum portfolio items on the page’ to be seen from 10 to 20 value.

This should not effect in any way cause the problem which I am encountering is on link which points to ‘Project types’ rather then the page I created itself.

Thanks for looking into it 🙂

Thanks a lot for your clarifications. The theme developer found the cause of the issue and has made a fix that should take care of it. You can download Espied 1.1.3 from here, or wait for the official release to go through:

    http://wordpress.org/themes/download/espied.1.1.3.zip

Please let me know if you still see any issues after updating to this version, thanks!

It works perfect! You have been already kind enough but I cannot help but ask as to what was the actual problem?

Also, I have a need to order my portfolio template page (which I have set as the homepage) to order the items WRT to Project type. Is it possible from your side on giving my guidance on this perticular hack?

Thanks in advance for making it smooth for me!

    cheers

    Glad that fixed it!

I cannot help but ask as to what was the actual problem?

There were some issues with the portfolio code. You can see the code differences between version 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 here:

    https://themes.trac.wordpress.org/changeset?old_path=/espied/1.1.2&new_path=/espied/1.1.3

Red is code that was removed and green is code that was added.

Also, I have a need to order my portfolio template page (which I have set as the homepage) to order the items WRT to Project type.

If you’re trying to have your portfolio items display in a particular order, have you tried modifying the projects’ publication date? I think the projects with the most recent publication date normally display first. (Edit: reverse chronological order.) Let me know if that does the trick.

Sorry for replying late and thanks for sharing the code!

I will tell you my problem. Right now all my projects are jumbled. Not all of my visitors will want to see all of my projects. So I want to Categorize, order, or show only specific project types in my template.

    So accordingly:

I want to order them by project type instead of date. I want project-type ‘a’ to come first then ‘b’.

I tried doing that with shortcode on the page. But the shortcode on the page does not give me same view and portfolio page template.

Right now there isn’t a way to automatically order the project types, but you can probably accomplish what you’re after by using several of the portfolio shortcodes, one after the other.

This guide outlines how to use the shortcodes:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/portfolios/portfolio-shortcode/

    For example:

    [portfolio include_type=artwork]
    [portfolio include_type=design]

That would display your projects in the “artwork” and “design” types.
