I just got the Editor theme for my blog and was wondering how to add text to the main right sidebar you see when you open the page. I want to be able to write a small about me excerpt under the logo and possibly place ads. Is this possible?
    Thanks!

    Hi there,

The only way to add ads and text would be by using widgets, and those only appear in the sidebar toggle. With some theme modification, you could move the widgets into the main menu area, but you’d have to know a little code. header.php would be the place to start!

Thanks! And one more question, Can you add widgets in the column below the tags & comments next to the content?

You’ll have to make customizations to the theme to add widgets to that area. It’s best to make these kinds of changes in a child theme, so you don’t lose your changes when future updates come out.

You’ll first need to register new widget areas. See the editor_widgets_init in functions.php for an example. Once you’re registered your new widget areas, you’ll need to adapt content-meta.php to display them for you.
