Content from Custom Posts are also displaying as regular posts on my news page

I’ve never come across this before and have no idea why this is suddenly happening. All my content block/custom posts are showing as if they are regular news posts on my news page.

Has anyone had this happen and if so any idea what causes it?

I’ve tested the core themes and it’s not a theme issue as it happens on them all.

The site is in dev so I can’t link to it publicly. Johan if you had any time to take a quick look I’d be happy to pay/donate.

Are you by any chance using the ‘Post Type Switcher’ plugin? http://wordpress.org/support/topic/incompatibility-with-post-type-switcher-plugin?replies=3

I asked that because the issue you are experiencing is most likely caused by the fact that the post type for the content_blocks has been changed to posts.

Is there anything that you have changed/installed that you think could have caused this? Without more information I can only guess what might be wrong 😉

Hi Johan,

actually yes there is and I just deactivated it and the content_block posts no longer showed on the posts page. The plugin is one I’ve been given from client, it’s one they have developed and I have to use it on the site.

Not sure what to do now, any suggestions of a way to get around this by any chance? I suppose I could just have the news page only show posts in certain categories as the content blocks wouldn’t have any categories assigned I assume?

Unfortunately the IDS plugin is a bit too complex to quickly find out where the issue is. But it seems that it is modifying the loop which causes the content_block post types to appear on the homepage. Because I have never used that plugin I don’t know how to fix this. I think it is best to ask the developer: http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/ids-ks-international-development-research-plugin
