    Hey Morgan,

A couple of questions for you:

    1) When clicking on the button does it prompt you to log into your Instagram account or prompt you to authorize the plugin to access your data?
    2) When it redirects you back to your WordPress page does it contain an access token in the URL?

    John

I’m having this same issue. It prompts me to log into Instagram and authorize the plugin, however it doesn’t provide me with an access token.

    Hey justjfaye,

Could you tell me the link to your Instagram page so that I can test it? If you’d prefer not to post it publicly here then you can send it to me via our Contact form.

    Many thanks!

    Thanks Jenna,

I’m able to display your posts on my test site so it’s not an issue with your Instagram page. I’ve had a few people mention that they weren’t receiving access tokens when logging in to Instagram but I’m not able to replicate the issue on my own test sites. Are you willing to grant me access to log into your site so that I can experience the issue first hand and see what’s causing it? If so, could you send me your site log in details via our contact form? I’d really like to see why the access token retrieval function isn’t working on some WordPress sites.

If not, then I understand, and can provide you with manual directions on how to obtain an access token via the Instagram developer site.

    Apologies for the inconvenience,

    John

Same problem here from the is account, no access token provide.. http://instagram.com/gazelles_mtl

    Hey misspixels,

As I mentioned above, I’m not able to replicate this issue and so am hoping that a user will grant me access to log into their site to see the issue first hand. If you’re willing to let me do this then could you send me a link to your site and your login details via our contact form so that I can take a look?

    Many thanks,

    John

Hey John! Thanks for the reply
I just send you details via the form

    Hey guys,

Thanks to both of you for allowing me to log in to your sites to test this issue. It looks like it may be a browser issue, as I’m only able to replicate the issue in certain web browsers, specifically in Safari and Internet Explorer.

I’m going to work on getting this resolved, but just to confirm that this is in fact the issue, if you’re using one of those two browsers then could you try a different browser (either Firefox or Google Chrome) and let me know whether it works correctly for you then?

Apologies for the inconvenience and thanks for your help in assisting me to resolve this issue,

    John

    Hello John! I’m using Safari…

So If I understand, I can connect the account if I use Chrome?

Yeah, it looks like the Access Token and User ID aren’t being returned to WordPress when using Safari or Internet Explorer, but are returned correctly when using Chrome or Firefox. I’m going to look into this today to see if I can get it fixed ASAP, but for now you should be able to connect your Instagram account and get your Access Token and User ID by using either Chrome or Firefox.

Different web browsers work in different ways and it seems that the code I’m using to connect the account doesn’t play nicely in Safari or Internet Explorer so I’m going to have to find a way around that.

Let me know whether it works successfully for you in one of those two browsers.

    John

Ok well, it doesn’t work on Chrome.
Says «page web inaccessible» which mean that the page is not reachable

I know you sent me your Instagram login info earlier but are you able to send me the login information for your WordPress site via our contact form so that I can login and see the issue?

I’ve just released an update (1.1.4) which should now work across all browsers. I’ve tested on Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Opera and the Access Token and User ID retrieval should now be working on all of them.

If anyone still has any issues retrieving their information then please let me know,

    John

YESSSS! Works fine! Thanks so MUCH!
