site logs users out

    Hi every now and again users are being logged out of my site after they log in and click on another page. This isn’t happening a lot but it is still a problem. This seems quite random and isn’t happening in any particular browser so it’s really difficult for me to test and fix the problem.

    If the user refreshes the page they are generally logged back in again. Obviously there is an issue with the cookies, I have checked the cookie setting and the computers where this occues are definately accepting cookies. Has anyone heard of this happening before?

    Hmm I have seen this on sites where the site and home URL differ from what is defined in the wp-config. You want to make sure they match exactly even if it is just a difference of www. vs the non www version. Other than that, it sounds like a plugin conflict possibly

    Thanks, I actually didn’t have either of these defined in the wp-config for some reason. I have now done this. Thanks so much for your help. I’ll wait a day or so and do some tests and then close the topic if that’s ok. thanks again.

    Hey there

    If they weren’t defined at all then this should actually not be your issue. I now am suspecting there is a plugin that is causing this. Do you have any social login plugins?

    Thanks Mike, I am not using and social login plugins. I also forgot to mention I am using jquery.cookie.min.js for some form data on the site, could this be causing me problems?

    OK , hmm possibly but I won’t want to say for sure because I am not familiar enough with jquery. I am sorry

    No worries, the site is live now and I am yet to receive a complaint so I’ll just wait and see. If I start to get complaints I’ll remove the jquery.cookie. thanks for your help.
