Have you take a look to the plugin named xili-tidy-tags ?

    http://wordpress.org/plugins/xili-tidy-tags/

What is your taxonomy ? category, post tag or a custom taxonomy ?

Don’t hesitate to use the support form inside the xili-language dashboard to give us more info on your architecture and help us for a better diagnosis…

There are mixed, taxonomy, category and tags.

There were multiple ways according type of taxonomies:
    a) category is a built-in taxonomy (since WP creation) and according CMS data model translations of name and description are managed from po/mo files.

This way was originally defined to create query/loop of a category in a specific language or in all language. In the data model, category is a way to organise posts.

    b) post tags are also builtin and managed via xili-tidy-tags plugin to group tags by language.
    c) custom taxonomies must be studied for specific customisation. By example, in bbPress topic tags are managed by a special instantiation of xili-tidy-tags class. (as inside xili-xl-bbp-addon).

    Good work
