• First off I have no idea what version of WP I’m using nor how to ascertain this info.

I paid for an upgrade primarily to be able to upload videos directly from my phone. This isn’t working from my Samsung Galaxy Note. it just goes around and around and then tells me to “retry”.

I try uploading a video to youtube via my phone and all it says is an indefinite “pending”.

I finally figured out how to upload via Vimeo and it came out all squished.

I did search the other topics and nothing answered these questions directly. And I am just a blogger, not a computer html expert or even close.

    Can anyone please help me?

    Thanks

    My blog is

You can see the squished video at the bottom of my latest post.

I don’t think it is squished, I think it is at the correct aspect ratio at which it was recorded. When you hold a phone vertically and record, this is what you get. Holding it horizontally and recording will give you a more normal sized video.

Other than that, I can see the video on desktop and mobile so it appears your plugin is working correctly.

I don’t think this is a WordPress issue though.

It doesn’t look like that at all on my phone or my desktop via Vimeo. I will do it horizontally again but the only place it’s squished, to me, is on my blog.

The WordPress issue is why can’t I upload a video directly on to my site. I’m following the same path I use to upload photos but it won’t upload my videos. And this is what I paid for an upgrade to be able to do. This is a WordPress issue.

This is how it looks on Vimeo..nothing like how it came out on my blog or how my videos come out with youtube (which will also not allow me to upload now via my phone–NOT a wordpress issue but thought someone here might have an idea):

Try turning your phone landscape. Is the video squished? If so, that’s how it looks natively.

Are you getting an error? Like file size is too big? What’s happening here? I’m not sure what the upload size limit in PHP.ini is for wordpress.com, but probably not very large. I don’t know much about your plugin though or what it even is.

When I look at your Vimeo video, it is squished just like it is on your blog and on my phone…on my phone it actually looks normal when I hold it vertically which to me indicates that it was filmed vertically. Try filming horizontal, repeat your process and see if it is more of what you want.

Thank you for taking the time to reply Lee. Now when I click on it, it’s squished part of the time (spread out through the whole frame) and not (centered in the middle) some of the time. Unusual. I will film horizontal now.

I’m not getting an error, I just hit the upload video like I do pics off my Samsung Galaxy Note using the WP app and it circles and circles not uploading then just says “retry” each time.

Any ideas on that? I thought it would be basically the same as uploading a photo on the app.
