[resolved] Plugins don't show up in plugins dashboard (10 posts)

I downloaded wp-super-cache and wp-polss zip file. I unzipped both on my local computer and ftp'd the entire directory for both to domain->wp-content->plugins. When I log into wordpress and go to the dashboard->plugins, neither of these plugins show up in the list of plugins.

I tried these fixes on wp-super-cache only while trying to fix the problem: I deleted it and re-installed it 2 times. The zip file is named wp-super-cache.0.7.1 and I even tried renaming the directory wp-super-cache (without the .0.7.1), but that didn't help either. Any suggestions are appreciated.

What version of WP are you using? I ask because when I upgraded to 2.6.1 I didn't notice at first that unactivated plugins are below activated plugins, not mingled in with them like they used to be.

@whooami - I don't think the videos are working. Tried both IE7 and Firefox browsers and also checked youtube and they worked. Your ideas will be appreciated. Also, I'm using filezilla for ftp. Thanks and what do you recommend?

@thisisedie - I double checked to make sure they were down at the bottom of the page and, unfortunately, they aren't there. Ideas?

Brew did you make sure they aren't nested? Meaning the folders you uploaded to the plugins folder aren't for instance wp-content/plugins/wp-super-cache.0.7.1/wp-super-cache? Not trying to be condescending but sometimes little errors like these go unnoticed and are the cause of problems.

Oh my gosh! They were nested. Thanks so much!

thats what the videos explain :) .. no "oh my gosh"'s are necessary. 99% of the threads that read like this one are by people making the same exact mistake.
