Support » Fixing WordPress » Suddenly, I Can't Administer My Website

  • Having been happy with WordPress for a long time, it was with a heavy heart that I eventually upgraded to Version 3.9.2. Everything was OK at first, but then starting 7th August, I couldn’t administer my website anymore;

    When I hit Update, my content changes are removed from the white Edit Page screen, and aren’t promoted to the site.

    The WP Hit Counter doesn’t work anymore, even though the screen flashes when I view a new page.

    I can install but not activate Plugins.

    The website is http://sdsliteraryagency.azurewebsites.net/

    I believe I’m accessing it as I always did, through Site Admin in Remote View of Microsoft WebMatrix, after which I’m acknowledged by ‘Howdy, Steve Smith’. But as explained above, I can’t update anything.

    I’ve already repaired the database without a Plugin, used F5, tried a different browser, and I never enabled caching. Please help – I run a successful business through this website.

    Finally, I note that in Version 3.9.2, if you add media such as a photo using Edit Page, the photo is frustratingly added to the top of the page (meaning you have to awkwardly position it), instead of being added where you placed the cursor as previously.

    By the way, sorry if this duplicates a previous post I tried to make – I seemed to lose that post when I inadvertently pressed Enter.

    Many thanks,

    Steve Smith
