Support » Plugin: CM Tooltip Glossary - Powerful Glossary Plugin » Uninstall Incomplete

  • Don’t use CM Tooltip Glossary on a live site if you’re only testing with dummy data or on any site if you expect an uninstall to remove plugin files and data from the database.

CM Tooltip Glossary will NOT remove the data from the database.

This could be a problem if you’re moving from test to live data or if you have a very large glossary and decide to uninstall the plugin because the data in the MySql database will not be removed.

I must admit, I thought it was standard practice that all good plugins cleaned up after themselves. Apparantly not in the case of CM Tooltip Glossary.

I understand that you want to make a point and made a review at the same time you posted a question. Well this is by itself is bad habit and not sure what you intentions are.

As for your question, most users find it problematic that once you deactivate your plugin all data is being lost. There are several solutions for this and the most common is to leave the data untack and instead to add a separate function to clear the database

In the case of the CM Tooltip, this is on our roadmap but we didn’t yet got to this as there are other features we are working on. I believe we will release it in the near future.
