themes does not appear at localhost

    i have recently installed wordpress 2.6 at my localhost and i have tried to put many themes in wp-content/themes folder and i am 100% sure that there are no nested folders, but when i login then those themes does not appear at my control panel.
    if anyone of you have ever faced such problem at locahost then please tell me how you fixed it?

    Do you have the permissions set up correctly.

    i have all permissions i am a super user at my PC, but what i feel is that there is a problem with wordpress Vr 2.6 as it is only supporting default and classic themes and nothin else! 🙁

    Did you read over the link I gave, it’s not about your user permissions it’s about the permissions on the theme files.

    yeah i have read that link and there is no such issue about permissions at my side, if you have any other solution then please tell me, i will be thankful.

    Having the same issue; all theme folders are set to 755 permissions, yet I can’t see them in WordPress as available themes. Help! Using 2.6 and only classic and default themes appear.

    You say you uploaded them to the wp-content/themes folder… but HOW? Did you send all your new theme files and the required /images subfolder to the themes folder itself … or did you upload the entire /newtheme folder to wp-content/themes. The file structure required is:

    /wp-content/themes/default
    wp-content/themes/theme1
    wp-content/themes/theme2     etc.

    IOW, each theme must have its own theme folder name, and subfolder for any images it requires. If it doesn’t it will not show in the themes folder, and will very likey create a major fubar of your default theme due to overwritten files.
