    Does it help if you disable highlighting in the search results?

    This does look a known bug in Relevanssi – but if you’re using the latest version, that bug should already by fixed.

    That did it! Wow, thanks, I would not have guessed. Hopefully in the next iteration of the plugin that bug will be gone. Really appreciate your help!

    Actually, now that I remember better, this is probably a problem with your theme – I’m guessing your theme is somehow trimming the excerpt length. That cuts the end tag of Relevanssi highlighting, which then breaks the links. There are two solutions: remove the excerpt trimming from your theme, or remove Relevanssi highlighting. You’ve now done the latter; if you want to enable highlighting in Relevanssi, you can do the former.
