Problem Displaying Term Lists

This plugin sounds exactly what I want especially because of the flexibility and ease of laying out how the posts/excerpts are viewed. I first tried to make a list including all posts with a tag and put the shortcode alone on a page to test it out. When it didn’t show up, I tried using the tag slug instead of the tag name for the term id. Then I tried doing the same thing instead making a list including all posts within a category. I don’t know if this could be my theme or me using it wrongly, but I can’t get this plugin to work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
