Can't update to latest version due to error

    Hello,

    I see another has come forward about this error but I figured it best to add a new thread for support.

    I tried updating to the latest version and received the following error:

    Downloading update from https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/mailchimp-for-wp.2.1.zip…

    Warning: touch(): Unable to create file /tmp/mailchimp-for-wp.tmp because No such file or directory in /home/workweb/public_html/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 155

    Warning: unlink(/tmp/mailchimp-for-wp.tmp): Operation not permitted in /home/workweb/public_html/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 500

    Download failed. Could not open handle for fopen() to /tmp/mailchimp-for-wp.tmp

    Is there a way I can fix this or must I wait for a new update?

    Hi Liam,

    This is not a plugin issue. It looks like there is something up with your server configuration, are you able to update other plugins without problems?

    Hey Danny,

    Thanks for your reply.

    A server config you say? Huh, okay then. Yes, all other plugins seem to update as normal.

    Any idea how I may fix this?

    Hi there,

    Hmm, it’s strange that you can update other plugins without any problems. It could be a temporary server hiccup. Is it happening repeatedly?

    Another option is to perform a manual update.

    1. Download and extract the files from http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/mailchimp-for-wp.zip
    2. FTP to your site and navigate to /wp-content/plugins/
    3. Overwrite all files in /wp-content/plugins/mailchimp-for-wp/ with the extracted files from the downloaded ZIP.
