Hello,

i’ve made a minor adjustment in the file Dailymotion.php located plugins>jetpack>modules>shortcodes>dailymotion.php

I’ve added my syndication code. However the last jetpack update removed my settings.

Is there a way to make a child of this file so in the next update it stays untouched?

Hi,

I’m afraid not. While themes have child themes, plugins have no such beast. You could add the dailymotion.php code to a new plugin and unset the Jetpack shortcode (probably via http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/remove_shortcode ).

Writing up the code is a bit beyond the scope of support I’m able to provide to develop the code fully, but that is the direction I’d take.
