Could you post your site URL here, so I can have a look. With showing in your theme via the shortcode, was this added manually to the theme’s templates or via a shortcode placed via the post editor?
If it was added via code in the theme’s files, please send me how you added it.
Thanks!

Thanks Brandon. It was a shortcode which I used in a plugin called Add Post Footer. It worked fine before the 3.1 update.
Since having the issue I tried removing that plugin and putting the shortcode into the single post PHP file instead using the echo do shortcode function and that resulted in the same problem. I then tested it further by just placing the shortcode into a post and again the same issue.

Hi Dan,
If you completely drop the shortcode, letting Related Post add itself as it typically would, what happens?
Thanks for your patience. I’m looking in the file history between 3.0 and 3.1 and nothing is jumping out that sounds like a change that this could be a side-effect of (and can’t duplicate it on my end).
If I drop the shortcode then the related posts appear at the bottom of the post content but they are still duplicated.
:-/ Are you running any caching or minification plugins? (W3 Total Cache is one that can do both).
If so, any difference if you deactivate them?
To be safe, can you deactivate all other plugins and see if it continues? I’m a bit stumped on what could be causing it only within Jetpack, so wanting to rule out conflicts with other plugins, etc.
Thanks!
I am running w3 Yes. I’m using minification but I removed the “related posts” JS file from my minification list already when I was trying to hunt down the problem.
Let me try deactivating that whole thing and then after that I’ll see if i can duplicate the issue on a local version of my site. It might take me a few days to get around to this but I’ll come back here when I have tested more…..
Sounds good. In my experience, minification can really do some odd things sometimes.
Let me know when you’ve had a chance to check it out and we can keep plowing forward. Cheers!
