Occasionally I need change the author of a post from me to someone else. Is there an easier way to do this than creating a new user account, logging in as that user, and making the post? Ideally I could just change it on the same page where I'm writing the post, but that doesn't seem like a possibility.
Thanks for any help,
Jesse
If you're admin, make another user named Peter, e.g., you choose the name from dropdown in Page/Post Author way at the bottom since version 2.5

I need to swap authors on some posts as well (was logged into my admin account rather than my "me" account), but a Page/Post Author dropdown doesn't show up anywhere on my Edit Post page (running 2.7.1). I've looked in my Screen Options pulldown, thinking maybe the panel was hidden, but no dice.
Anyone have any ideas? :)

I am trying to find the same thing but cannot find any option to do this... perhaps it was not included with this version. This is very lame!
Well, the option is still there in 2.7.1. I just checked.
While on the Post editing screen, look for the "Post Author" dropdown. Don't see it? Perhaps you haven't enabled it... At the top of the page (upper right) click on "Screen Options" and check the box for "Post Author" and check again.
Didn't seem that lame to me, to be honest.

I'm using version 2.7.1 with the Thesis theme 1.5 - sometimes the option is there and sometimes it isn't. Unfortunately, when the option is not there, I open the Screen Options menu (upper right of the Post Edit screen) to turn it on, and the Post Author check box isn't there either, so there's no way to turn it on.
The only "fix" I've found is to keep trying. Eventually it mysteriously appears and I can change the author.

Yep, I ran into the same issue as Joe. The "Post Author" checkbox has always been checked, but no option in the body of the page was displayed.
Checked, unchecked, and checked a few times. Nothing. Then logged out, cleared my cache, logged back in, unchecked, checked, and it appeared.
Maybe it's just shy. :)
