2012 Theme: Shift up the header logo? (6 posts)

    On my new site http://easyengrave.com I would like to move the big logo at the top closer to the top. There is about an inch of white space I'd like to pare down.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    I am using 2012 theme with a child theme.

    Thank you.

    hi,

    Find this code in your "style.css" file

    .site-header {
        padding: 1.71429rem 0;
    }

    and replace it with

    .site-header {
        padding: 0;
    }

    This will move the logo a little at the top, but if you would like to move it more upwards, then the Phone number at the right-top side will disapper.

    Thank you Rajan.

    That fix actually does a couple things. First of all, it did bump up the logo a little higher, but not quite as much as I wanted.

    But moreover, it did get rid of the space BELOW the header... which is nice! I felt there was a little too much space below the menu bar and that got rid of it.

    One other thing, your change did move the phone number flush to the top of the main area, which I didn't like. So I added a margin of 25px to it. That seemed to lower the logo too :(

    But now, I'd really like to move that logo a bit higher, any ideas?

    This CSS is causing that space:

    .header-image {
        margin-top: 1.71429rem;
    }

    So try adding a margin-top: 0; to this one in your child theme:

    img.header-image {
    ...
    }

    WPyogi,

    Yes! That did it. Thank you!

    But now I feel I found some other problems, perhaps with poor coding in my header "floats" lol
