    Hi,

I'm new to this, having just created my first child theme with the help of you tube and support on this forum! My site is drpilger.com. I am trying to see if I can create a menu bar in which, when I hover over an item and select a page, the color block "sticks" , in effect highlighting the item. Right now, the menu item gets darker (bold?) but the light orange hover block disappears when I move my cursor. Also, it would be GREAT to be able to have an oval hover shape instead of a rectangle. Am I asking too much?

Not if you know some basic CSS (especially with regard to lists). Take a look at the default stylesheet for the theme, find the section that handles the menu, and then begin making changes in your child theme CSS.

Changing menu appearance is not hard, but as every theme uses somewhat different css classes, the real trouble is figuring out what they are.

Thank you. It sounds like something to do once the easier problems are fixed!
