   Hi, I am trying to add a function.php.to my 2011 child theme so I customize my banner. I put the function php code in to notepad and save it. went my wordpress public ftp directory to upload function php to my child theme-done , but then how do I upload it to my wordpress. I cannot find the child theme on my desktop. Should I re- install the child theme again

   Do you have your child theme on server in themes folder if so you should see it when you go Appearance>>>>Themes If you see it there you need to activate the theme.
