    Hi Ben,

I upgraded to the newest Tracks theme and I am not able to view my images. Media has them but the featured image just doesn’t appear anywhere.
I ran Regenerate Thumbnails but that didn’t help.

    Not sure what happened 🙁
Can you help? I’m at http://cupofguilt.com

    Thanks,
    Padhma

I’m seeing the images on your site now, have you figured it out?

In case anyone else is having this problem:

In the newest version of Tracks, we implemented “lazy loading” of the featured images which should make your site load much faster (the demo is now averaging < 1 sec load times). It utilizes JavaScript to only load the images once they are visible on the screen.

When none of the images appear, it means that there is a Javascript error on your site that is preventing the “lazy loading” from working which means the images never get loaded. It is likely caused by a plugin you’re using. WordPress has a guide here on finding JS errors with your browser that you can use to pinpoint where the error is coming from.

Actually, the images seemed to show up after I cleared my cache and restarted my system 🙂

Aha well that works too 🙂

I am having the same issue at weglobalfootball.com

I’ve disabled potentially problematic plugins and cleared cache with no success. Likewise, everything was fine until this most recent update.

    Thanks for your help,
    Brandon

It’s the best way to get the attention your problem deserves.

    Jan,

I’ll be happy to start a new topic, but thought I’d include here since it is the exact same issue.

    Brandon,

I’m going to turn off lazy loading in the next version and have it be opt-in. I’ll try to get it submitted tomorrow.

In the meantime, I’ve got two solutions for you:

    1) I looked at the JS being loaded by your site, and it looks like an older version of the JS included in Tracks is still being loaded (production.min.js). This means it’s still in the cache. I know how frustrating caching can be, so if you can’t get it cleared you can…

    2) Download the previous version of Tracks on the developer page. Once activated your images will come right back.

UPDATE: v1.16 of Tracks is under review. Lazy loading is now an optional feature found under Additional Options in the customizer.

    Ben,

Thanks for your help and the great theme. Most importantly, thanks for being so responsive so quickly.

It took me awhile to figure out the issue, but I found the production.min.js file on my server and just deleted it. Once deleted, it appears the production.js file kicked in, and the images seem to be loading properly now. Hopefully this is what you expected to happen.

    Thanks again for your help.

    You’re welcome 🙂

That’s not quite what I expected, but it totally works. The only difference is the JS file is a few kilobytes heavier (a negligible difference), but that will be fixed in a few hours time with the new update anyway.

Going to mark this as resolved now.
