• The update for this keeps hanging and doing nothing. Granted, this could be a host issue (I’m on Dreamhost), but I’m not getting any real support on this from them. Can I do a manual ftp of the files and overwrite the existing files? Or should I uninstall the current version and do a fresh install of JetPack?

Note, I have the same problem with the Yoast WordPress SEO plugin. Consistently these 2 plugins are the ones that give me a headache when updating on most of my client websites.

    Hi Laura,

The FTP solution is the safest (since deleting the plugin would delete saved settings). Personally, I’d delete the entire folder via FTP and upload a fresh copy that way (since WordPress isn’t doing the deleting, settings would be maintained).

That does sound like a hosting issue, though Dreamhost is usually pretty good about these things—both plugin upgrades working as expected and support.

Are there any error messages in the PHP error logs?
