• I installed WordPress with multisite funcionality. The main site works with no problem, but the add-on domain returns “access denied”.

    http://mainsite.com (ok)
    http://add-on-site.org (access denied)

However, the add-on domain appears to be showing up as a subdomain.

    http://mainsite/add-on-site/ (without the .org).

WordPress is working in the subdomain, but the add-on domain is not working and the add-om domain is what I need to work. The problem seems to be to get the add-on domain to resolve to the subdomain while showing the add-on domain in the address field. How do I get the add-on domain to work properly?

That’s not a subdomain. That’s a subfolder, and yes it matters.

How did you add the add-on domain to WORDPRESS?

I chose add-on-site.org with add-on domain in c-panel and it created Home/public_html/add-on-site.org, not redirected.
When I go to subdomain in c-panel it shows
the root domain as add-on-site.mainsite.com and document root as public_html/add-on-site.org with no redirection.

The WordPress network dashboard shows two sites, one is / and the other is /add-on-site/.

I can see that when adding a site to WordPress, it automatically comes in as a subfolder and I want an add-on domain.
I admit I am confused. How can I resolve this?
    Thanks.
