jacobmacI expect the solution is simple yet it has been beyond me (for 30 some hours now). I created a database and user in cpanel. Configured the wp-config.php correctly (I believe after having attempted all configuration possiblities I could imagine) and i did include the prefixes_. when I attempt wp-admin/install\.php I get: "There doesn't seem to be a wp-config.php..." also includes a link to:wp-admin/setup-config.php which states: "The file 'wp-config.php' already exists. If you need to reset any of the configuration items in this file, please delete it first. You may try installing now." I have deleted the file from the server and re-uploaded with the same results. Renaming the wordpress folder in my root directory seemed to work as it got me this far. Any suggestions? Cuz at this point I am beginning to consider other options, though really wanted to try out wp. thanks.
