2 Simple splash plugin modifications for ameture

I have installed the free “Splash Page” plugin here http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-splash-page. I know nothing about code and all i want to do is make the background image a clickable link to my wordpress homepage. I also want this splash page to appear every time someone visits my site and not just everytime someone starts a new session. If at all possible in the most layman’s terms, can someone expain where to navigate within the plugin editor and how to modify this code? This is my first wordpress and my first time manipulating code. The author of the plugin seems to be non responsive for some time now. Great appreciation to anyone who can help me out.
