• Hi everyone,

I have nested two WordPress packages like so:

    site.com (main site)
    site.com/blog (blog site)

I am having trouble with the permalinks on the blog package. If I use anything but the default permalinks, apache tries to find the file in the main site directory, inevitably returning a 404 page. is there a rewrite rule that i can copy and paste into the .htaccess file to prevent this from happening?

    thanks!

  • Same problem here. I guess it might have started with 2.9.2. Going into permalink settings of nested blog and clicking “update” helps for a moment, but after some time it reverts to behavior described above.

    any idea?

What if you access the nested blog by subdomain? Instead of having it resolve to yourdomain.ext/blog/ you could make it resolve to blog.yourdomain.ext

That would probably kill the confusion.
