    hey folks,
Brand new installation, not an upgrade.
    Wordpress v 2.1.3
    PHP v 4.3.11
    MySQL v 4.0.27-standard
created a db and a user on the server, (using cpanel...)
copied the extracted WP files to the server, and edited the wp-config.php file
I can connect, as the admin. There was an error on the blank main page, the default welcome post, but that was cleared up when I made a post. The error I have, when I am in the admin panel>Users>Author & Users tab:
Fatal error: Unsupported operand types in /home/foldernamehere/public_html/blog/wp-admin/users.php on line 55

I've deleted the wordpress folder, deleted the database and user. Created them anew, using different names. I did this 4 times to be certain it was repeatable. Exactly the same error. Once it's an anomaly, twice it's a coincidence, three times it's a pattern...

Any idea on what I am doing wrong?
    Thanks !
    RV

Just to confirm - you following the instructions here?
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress#Using_cPanel
i.e. "You should see the username you just added to the database (with ALL PRIVILEGES)"

    yeleek,
yes, that's the page I used, and yes, I see the username added, with all privs..
any username I add, does not work, trying to sign in.. only the default user, admin, with the pw that is emailed. Also, if i register a user through the site, I get emailed confirmation, but no pw. Something is broken on the user db part for sure.. I just don't know where to begin looking.
    Thanks for any help !!

In my case, this error was a consequence of the 'array' error.

    See here for the solution:
