Maybe it would help differentiate the 2 'ARCHIVES' links, if in the sidebar column listing 'Word Press Default' theme files the file listing matched the actually file name, ie Archive> archive.php and Archives>archives.php (instead of both archive.php and archives.php both being accesed by links titled "Archives")?
or maybe a parenthetical aside to clarify the difference in what one gets when one clicks either?
