    Hi there

I have created a bunch of folders that I uploaded via ftp instead of media library.

I cant even remember where I have stored half of them.

but I do know that they are all inisde of the public_html folder in amongst the wordpress installation folders etc.

will these be optimised by default when i do the scan and optimise feature or do I have to work out which folders exactly they are in and input that into the settings?

If not and I find my images and they are all within 1 folder higher up the chain am I able to enter that folder in and know that it will do all images in the sub folder beneath that folder?

    cheers Grant

They will not be optimized by default, but you can certainly tell the plugin which folders they are in. The highest level it will permit you to scan is your entire wordpress install folder, and it will scan all sub-folders.

That said, I don’t recommend you go quite that extreme, I would try to narrow down where the images are, otherwise there could be a LOT of files to scan. That could result in timeouts and won’t do you much good.
