[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Resizing is a BIG problem and the ROLES aren't working (8 posts)

1.AAARRRGH the resizing just doesnt work at all because of the memory errors. Only if you upload an image of less than 1000px wide does it seem to upload and create thumb without error messages.

The thing is, this renders the resize setting in NGG options menu effectively useless. My users have to resize the images before they upload them to NGG, and this is not an option as most of them don't have the ability to do this.

    2. The roles aren't working. I've assigned 'Add Gallery/Upload Images' to the role of Author, but no Gallery links show for any user who has 'Author' role.

    1. PHP Memory Limit : 32M. The error messages usually state it needs maybe 40-50+ (depending on image size). But thats a lot of memory!

    2. Main NextGEN Gallery overview: Admin
Use TinyMCE Button / Upload tab: Author
Add gallery / Upload images: Author
    Manage gallery: Admin
    Edit Album: Author
    Change style: Admin
    Change options: Admin

My users who are authors are unable to carry out any functions that they should be able to from the above role settings

    Thx!

With this settings it should be possible that the author is able to add and upload images. Is this possioble or not ?

No, no Gallery links show for any user who has 'Author' role. In other words, the admin section contains 0 Gallery links - so I can't see how they can 'add gallery/upload images'

OK I got the link to appear if you change Main NextGEN Gallery overview: to Author.

Now if you can just resolve the resizing issue.... :)

I can't reproduce this behaviour, if I set the author to upload images I can only see the upload tab...strange

A memory limit can't not solved on my side
