   I just upgraded the Akismet plugin through the automatic upgrade and no it won't delete the spam when I press delete all.

   I've also tried doing the upgrade through FTP and then tried to delete but it's still not deleting them.

   Same for me - maybe we should try the manual upgrade - automatic upgrades do fail sometimes.

   I actually deleted it from my ftp server and uploaded again but still no luck.

   I didn't change anything on my blog at all when I upgraded either. I've emailed them at automattic but have yet to hear back.

   Same for me. In order to get spam deleted, I downgraded Akismet. (Cheers for backup files!)

   I found a copy of 2.1.6 and have reverted back to that as well for now.

   I'm having the same problem. Can you just reload the older version over the new one without causing problems?

   I deleted the new version and then reuploaded via ftp the copy of 2.1.6 I found.

   They just put up a new version of akismet 2.1.8. I'm still waiting for some spam to see if it works properly.

   If version 2.1.8 is no better than 2.1.7, then you can find a version of 2.1.6 here:

    The 2.1.8 version worked fine for me. I will make this resolved.

    Good to hear, I'm not seeing the 2.1.8 version showing up yet as an upgrade. I'll hop over the WP's plugins section to see and get it.
