I have not yet downloaded wordpress to my computer. I am assuming you have to upload a new theme to the downloaded version of wordpress. I do not understand how to install a theme for my blog. I get as far as extracting it...but to where? Please help. Its complicated to even download the wordpress program!

Posted 1 year ago #Just download the WordPress, upload it to your server, go to the link http://yourname.com and follow the on-screen instructions to setup. And your blog will be ready for you to start using. Every WordPress comes with default theme. You only need to download and upload the theme if you like to use themes other than the default one.

Posted 1 year ago #Sounds as if you are a newbie so you'll have to persevere & be prepared for the learning curve. Downloading and extracting Wordpress to a folder on your PC is straightforward. If you have Win XP you don't need an unzipper - just right click the download and select Extract All. It will extract to a folder in the same location. Next you need to upload these to your website & you'll need an ftp program for that. Leech FTP is free. Then follow the WP instructions for setup. Next you can do the Themes using basically the same process. Just need to maintain the same folder structure when you upload.
