Currently, Muut forums only support separation of access for two types of users: normal users, and admin users. Both types, actually, can technically access all of the forum; administrators can just delete posts, ban users, etc. Separating access to different channels of a forum on user-by-user basis (or group-by-group) is definitely on the roadmap for Muut, but isn’t currently supported.
Since Muut itself only supports separation of administrators and normal users, such is true of the WordPress plugin as well. So, if you are using SSO—single sign-on, where the forum membership is the same as your WordPress membership—then WordPress site administrators are automatically also administrators on the forum, and all other roles are, by default, normal users.
