Tracking activity on specific sections of a page

We are looking for a way to track which sections of our home page receive the most attention. We would like to know which sections people are actually clicking on / using as opposed to sections that never get clicks. So, for example, do people click on our section called “staff favorites” from the home page or do they completely ignore it? If they ignore it on the home page but there is actually traffic from sidebars then we would be better able to utilize that section on the home page (different content).
