Polylang WPML

    Hi, dev from Avada here.

    Theme options in our theme uses language switcher and the entire save process works fine but when it comes to grabbing the CURRENT language name, the function is executed in the hook that is available very late. WPML executes current language hook earlier and to make sure our theme works for both WPML + Polylang the same way, we want to collaborate with you in order to make this work.

    You are right. The language is set late (in ‘wp’ hook) when it is set from content. This mode does not exist in WPML.

    When the language is available in the url, the language is set as soon as possible in ‘plugins_loaded’ as WPML does.

    On admin side, the language is also set later in Polylang (‘setup_theme’) than in WPML (‘plugins_loaded’).

    In all cases, Polylang fires the action ‘pll_language_defined’ as soon as the language is set.
