• Hi,

since upgrading to the latest version of NextGen all my old templates no longer work. Previously, I had the “filename” of the image displaying instead of the “Title” when someone clicked on a thumbnail and launched the image via Fancybox.

Can someone point me in the right direction on what file I need to change in NextGen 2 to make this happen?

    Thank you in advance!

    Kylie

@kyliegarner – Updates overwrite all of the files and folders in a plugin’s installation, I would suggest looking at your backups for what you were doing with your templates and/or any modifications you may have made to the Fancybox Lightbox library.

Apologies Cais, I should have explained myself better.

They were legacy templates that resided in my theme folder, but no longer work since the overhaul of NextGen – not because the upgrade over-rid them.

There doesn’t seem to be any customisation documentation for the new version on your website, so just need to be pointed in the right direction to be able to add the image filename instead of the caption when an image is launched in Fancybox.

I have purchased the NextGen Pro version, so I was hoping for a little guidance. Creating or customising templates seemed to be a whole lot easier on the legacy version. Any assistance you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks for your time,

    Kylie

@kyliegarner – As a NextGEN Pro subscriber you can contact our Support team directly via your member’s area at http://nextgen-gallery.com/ for any questions or concerns with NextGEN Pro (or Plus).

As to modifying the Fancybox Lightbox effects library, we include that with NextGEN Gallery as a convenience and do not offer any support for modifying a third-party standard library.

If your custom templates are being stored in your theme directory you may just need to move them … we recommend they be located here:
    /wp-content/themes/[yourtheme]/nggallery/

    Thanks!

    – Cais.
