    Hi there:

There shouldn’t be any conflict between Akismet and Jetpack – we make both plugins! 🙂

I don’t show that you have any connection errors on our end. Can you give me more information as what isn’t working when both are activated? A screenshot would be most helpful.

Also, can you check to see if you can see your stats loading when logged into your WordPress.com account here? https://wordpress.com/my-stats/

Let me know if you have any questions. Otherwise, I’ll wait to hear back from you!

    Hi Carolyn,

Stats are OK on wordpress, I can see my stats if I click through to Jetpack>Site Stats

With Akismet activated, wordpress news and plugin Broken Link Checker just say loading, stats on the dashboard is blank. Also the links at the top right hand corner for Screen Options & Help don’t work either.

Thanks for that – that helps!

It sounds like you could have some Javascript errors that’s preventing both items from displaying in your initial Dashboard. Can you follow the steps here and let me know what you find?

Could you please log in to your site via FTP, and delete the existing Akismet plugin files?

Once you have done so you should be able to install Akismet again, either via the Plugin installer in your dashboard, or manually via FTP:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Managing_Plugins#Manual_Plugin_Installation

It seems the Akismet plugin install files might be corrupted or missing. Installing a fresh version will rule that out (or fix your problem).

    Hi Caorlyn,

Akismet folder deleted completely by the company that supports my website, I the re-installed latest version of Akismet via the dashboard, still the same problem.

The only thing that I am unsure about with doing this is that when I re-installed Akismet it still had my API key and setting from before.

    Thanks for reinstalling Akismet.

Next we need to rule out a theme conflict. Sometimes themes will unregister jQuery on the admin side of things and that will cause the errors that you saw in the console.

Try activating Twenty Fourteen temporarily as your theme and see if that helps. If things start working again, likely something in your theme is broken and you should get in touch with your theme’s author.

Once we rule out the theme, we can investigate further.

    Hi Carolyn,

No, that didn’t make any difference.

    Rats!

Can you contact us via our contact form here?
    http://jetpack.me/contact-support/

Please add the URL of this thread to the description so we can pick up our troubleshooting there. I’ll send instructions regarding setting up an Administrator account for me once I hear from you.
