    Hello!

I absolutely love this theme. I’m running into a small problem where every time I upload my own box pictures for the Featured areas, the theme automatically crops the photo, without allowing me to do so myself. This is occurring even though my box pictures are set to the same proportions as the original “featured area 1” picture (1500×350).

Any support of this would be very appreciated. Will leave 5 stars soon.

    thanks 🙂

To add to the above, is there a way to link the featured areas to blog posts instead of pages? It makes it easier then to just update the features rather than have to create a new page each time you want to update.

Firstly, love the logo and slider images you’re using! Minamaze looks awesome on your site!

With regards to the featured content images the image is resized to the optimal size. This is so that the image loads as fast as possible, so rather than loading the full image, it loads the cropped version as you mention. The place holder featured images and not copped as they’re loaded a slightly different way.

In the next theme update we can add a feature so you can disable cropping if you like. Hope you’ll you might find this useful.

For now, we’ll need to perform a theme customization. If you’re happy with editing core theme files, I can give you directions on how to do this. Let me know if you’d like this.

    Appreciate the compliment!

I am more than happy to perform a theme customization. Lead the way!

Hello! I’d love some help with changing the default featured image sizes as well. I’ve tried locating the dimensions in the CSS and have not had any luck!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi guys,

We’re going to remove the auto-resize in the next theme update. For now I can talk you through the customization that needs to be made. But PLEASE make sure you do this via FTP and firstly backup the theme just in case a mistake is made. However, if you follow these instructions to the dot you’ll be fine:

    • Go the Minamaze themes folder and go to the following file: /admin/main/options/02.homepage.php
    • Open this and go to lines 605, 608 and 611.
    • Change the text column3-2/3 to full

That’ll ensure that the image is not resized. Please let me know how you get on and of course if you have any problems getting this to work do let me know.

    1) I do not know where this folder is, it is not saved onto my computer and it is all done online. T

2)) I’m currently having trouble trying to figure out what this FTP is. I heard that WordPress doesnt even support FTP nor does it support the uploading of themes. Can I not simply edit it in the editor? I would simply copy the previous version of the file to elsewhere.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Hi robertamundson,

That’s not quite right. FTP is simply access to your server where your WordPress files are kept. It’s completely separate from WordPress. If you’re having trouble finding how to access your site via FTP you’ll need to contact your web host for directions.

WordPress does allow themes to be uploaded. You can do this from Appearance -> Themes and then press add new.

If you can’t get FTP access you can always download Minamaze from the download page, unzip it on your desktop. Make the changes and then install from Appearance -> Themes.

You’ll need to delete the existing theme version before doing this.

I can help with theme specific issues, but these questions are all either hosting related questions or general question on how to use WordPress.

Let me know how you get on.

Thank you for the support so far,

But i cannot seem to find the downloads page?
I have found the upload page etc. So knowing how to download the theme is the only last thing I need to know now before I go about doing this.

Also, if I upload the new theme, would this oversave all my slider images, etc?

Okay I have found the download page here:

    http://wordpress.org/themes/minamaze

So this means that if I upload THIS version of the theme, it will oversave all my theme options right? Which kind of sucks..

    Hi robertamundson,

You can download Minamaze from the same page where you find details about the theme and also where you can leave a review which is here:

    http://wordpress.org/themes/minamaze

All of your changes to the theme options panel will transfer automatically over to the updated version when you install it. note you’ll have to delete your existing version before you can upload the new on.

Let me know how you get on.

    Hi robertamundson,

No your changes will not be overwritten, which hopefully rather than sucking is instead kind of cool! 🙂

Okay I have successfully edited the .php page. I’m just slightly scared to upload the new theme on my wordpress, thinking that it will alter all my settings, etc.

    (@robertamundson)

Okay thanks for the details. Will let you know!
