• Dear Sirs,

some weeks ago I have purchased a new database (MySql), as my previous one had expired without my renewal. In fact, I had my website “www.wordfly.it” active since 2013. Since I have purchased my new MySql, I have updated my parameters in the file “wp-config.php” in order to access again to my previously existing website. But when I have tried to enter “www.wordfly.it”, WordPress requested a new installation which I have done. I could verify that on my server space, via ftp, no previous file had been deleted, but when I type “www.wordfly.it” I just get a blank page.

Please advise about my serious problem: Have I loosen my files and must upload the whole content once again or is there a way to recover it?

    Many thanks and regards
    Tina Taliercio

Did you take full file and database backups before your hosting expired?

If so you can restore those.

If not you need to contact the host (the company you paid for the renewal) and ask whether they can restore the site to the state it was in before it expired.

Yes, I took full file and database backups.

Yesterday, After your reply I have installed the backups online but my website still remains a blank page.

You may need to restore your database backup to a new empty database and edit the wp-confg.php to connect to that. Check with your hosting company whether they have kept your database intact and whether the database login details entered in wp-config.php are the same as they were previously.
