no redirections on Apache 2.4.7

    I’ve just copied our wordpress install from ubuntu 10 to 14, and no redirecitons are working.

    I’m running:
    Server Version: Apache/2.4.7 (Ubuntu) PHP/5.5.9-1ubuntu4.2 OpenSSL/1.0.1f

    I wonder if there’s a security setting which needs to be turned off ( other things would not work by default either)

    I’ve enabled mod rewrite, which off by default.

    All our redirections are present in our wp-admin

    What else could I check to see why redirection might be prevented from working?

    To answer my own question, the older apache was fine, but the new install requires

    AllowOverride All

    in the site’s .conf file

    Problem solved.
