   I know that this is an issue with the theme, which I put together. But I can't identify why the large calendar disappears when I click on the next or previous month.

   Make sure you have the following in the footer of your theme:

   <?php wp_footer(); ?>

   And also make sure you have the following in the header of your theme:

   <?php wp_head(); ?>

   (If you copy and paste those, don't forget to remove the ticks at the beginning and end.)
