I cannot preview or view any of my pages and getting the following error message:

I’ve updated all of my activated plugins, and I changed my Permissions on my FTP server to read, write, and change. I’m still getting the errors. I’ve read the “permissions” information on this site, but it still doesn’t help me since I know nothing about editing php, and don’t know where to look.
    Can anybody help?

  • Try:
    – switching to the default theme automatically by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    Thanks esmi,
I tried your suggestion, i renamed my current theme folder from “blank2r” to “blank2r-old”. I then reset the plugins folder.

Now, when I try to edit/preview my pages, it takes me to an absolutely blank page with no error messages or anything.

    hm…now what?

    Should I rename “blank2r-old” back to “blank2r”?

I ended up getting help from a technician at my Host server, and this is all fixed now. Technician sent me this page to look at after I asked what I can read up on for future troubleshooting on my own (which I hope won’t be necessary): http://wiki.dreamhost.com/Unix_File_Permissions

“Setting 755 for a folder and 644 for any files should generally work”, is also what I gathered.

Glad that the problem is solved in any case. I hope that anybody with similar issues can resolve it through setting correct permissions, or get successful help from a technician.
