   Question. Would you use Wordpress for a large (number of users around 15,000) site as an internal communication tool?

   CMS is required as well as many of the tools that come with Wordpress.

   Downsides and upside suggestions welcome please.

   I would but it really depends on the corporation. As Mark pointed out many corporation like entities do use it.

   Some companies that I've worked for will not use a product unless the vendor that sells the product also sells an accompanying support contract with it.

   With the GPL'ed WordPress.org software there is no product vendor that can really invoice a company as the seller of the product.

   Sounds silly I know, but that one item hampered the adoption of Linux, Apache, etc. for a lot of years in those companies.
