• Hi there
I just updated to 3.9.1 and now my dashboard is reduced to almost nothing. I can’t get into my sites, plugins or themes.

I’ve read that other people have had similar problems. What to do?

    Thanks in advance…
    /Tine

  • Try:
    – switching to the default theme automatically by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and the wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

    Thank you very much.
I have tried your solutions 1,2 and 4. None of them worked. Could you explain the re-uploading a little more detailed? What is it precisely that I have to delete before re-uploading?

    Thanks 🙂

Coming home from holiday my mind seems to be a little clearer. Stupidly I did not think of trying another browser until now. It doesn’t work with chrome but fine with firefox.
You cannot buy in the shop from chrome at the moment which is probably a bigger problem.
So lesson learned, always try another browser…
