Only a few HTML tags are allowed when submitting a comment. I know there are several plugins that add TinyMCE advanced to the comment form, but the buttons will have to be very restricted (need to show only a few).
Please add this option.
It can be done manually and with few plugins around, but you know all secrets of TinyMce and core, so it would be better for your plugin to manage it.
I’ve actually tried making another plugin to add TinyMCE to the front-end comment form, about 6 years ago. It can have only 5-6 buttons there to comply with the restrictions. Most people that tried the plugin wanted more buttons, which is not safe…
Maybe I’ll try again, not sure how many people will want something like that, as it adds a nice chunk of JS to all front pages.
This is a price of this luxury, normally.
If you can get code of WP Edit PRO, part of code for front comment you can see how he done it. It works in “reply” option (small JS code).
If you know it is a GPL I can give you this code, bought licence only for this part of code. I use it in functions.php, dont like WP Edit much.
Then maybe more important for bbPress users, they really need some easy way of TinyMce in comments.
There are plenty of different snippets for this. You could think it is so easy, why option in plugin. But core change so fast and much in TinyMce non of these snippets works 100%. It is really pain in the something to maintain this snippet for compatibility, and to see in right time new update ruined something.
That is why your plugin would be best option for it.
